Hey everyone!

We are super excited to announce that you can now create series on your blog, and group articles together. If you have been using Hashnode for a while, you might have noticed that you can only create series on Hashnode domain (e.g. hashnode.com/series/*) and group articles there. We received a lot of request from the community to move series to blogs, along with the ability to pin them to blog navbar. I am happy to announce that we just shipped a big update that will help you:

  • Create series on your blog
  • and pin series to your blog navbar

How to create a new series

Series has been moved to your blog dashboard. So, visit your dashboard, and navigate to series tab. Then, click on the following button to create a new series.

After you create a series on your blog, you can tag your articles with it while creating or updating your posts.

Once you create a series, and tag some posts with it, it'll appear at its own URL on your blog:

How to migrate an old series

  • If you have just one blog on Hashnode, and some series where the posts are a part of your blog, we have done the migration for you. You can just visit your blog dashboard -> series and find those series.

  • If you have just one blog on Hashnode, but your series consists of posts that are published on hashnode.com URL, you have to follow these steps to migrate:

    • Go to https://hashnode.com/my-series to find all your existing series that have not been migrated
    • Choose a specific series
    • Make sure all the posts from that series are a part of your blog. If not, manually edit and move them to your blog
    • Next, click on "edit" button on the series, and move it to your blog

    • Finally, edit the posts again and tag them with the correct series!

  • If you have multiple blogs on Hashnode, you have to edit your existing series, and move them to the right blog. Just make sure all the posts in your series are a part of the destination blog.

New Navbar

We are also introducing a new way to customize your blog navbar. Previously, your pages used to appear automatically on blog navbar. With this update, you can now decide what to pin on your blog navbar. A navbar item can be:

  • page
  • series
  • or any external link

You can also assign a priority to each nav bar item, and control the order in which they are rendered.

You can visit your blog dashboard, and navigate to the navbar tab to customize it!

We are super excited about this update, and can't wait to see you create series on your own blog. As always, feel free to comment, or reach out to us on our discord server, if you have any questions!

Guys, one question. My navbar customization panel, says that i can add only links, i cant add for example page or series. Is something wrong with my account, or i need to do in order to enable other features ? Thanks in advance :)

Is it possible to customize this so that the Article series table is at the top instead of the bottom of the post?
