I am thrilled to announce the launch of Rix✨, the ultimate AI Chatbot for developers! Our team has been working tirelessly on this project for some time, and we released it in a limited preview over the weekends.

πŸ“ˆ The feedback we've received thus far has been overwhelmingly positive, and in just a couple of days, we have generated answers to 10K+ questions. We're excited to make it available to more users starting today.

✨ Rix is unique because:

  • Rix is aware of leading Open Source docs, ensuring that you receive the most current knowledge and reliable sources available. We're launching with 15 OSS projects, but we plan on indexing more projects daily.

  • You can run the generated code snippets directly within the chatbot if you're using Next.js, React, JavaScript, and Vue.js, thanks to our CodeSandbox integration. 🀯

  • Rix lets you share responses easily with your friends. Just click a button, and we give you a unique shareable URL that loads instantly. πŸ”₯

  • Rix supports syntax highlighting and one-click copying.

  • Rix is blazing fast, and is always online, even when ChatGPT is down.

Here are a few tweets made by some of the early adopters of Rix:

Now let's check out 3 most impactful features of Rix in a bit more detail:

Knowledge of OSS docs

ChatGPT's knowledge is limited till 2021, but OSS documents are continuously evolving. So, we decided to index projects automatically and provide a learning platform that provides learners with the most accurate and up-to-date information along with sources.

As a user, you can also request us to index more docs. If it's a fit, we'll index them as soon as possible. In the future, we will also provide the ability for you to submit your own GitHub repository, website, or PDF and receive a chatbot within minutes. Today we are launching with 15 docs, but you can count on us to index more docs daily and expand our library.

Ability to run and share code snippets directly

Rix's integration with CodeSandbox allows developers to run and execute generated code snippets directly within the chatbot. Currently, this feature is available for Next.js, React, JavaScript, and Vue.js. We plan on expanding it in the future. I am super excited about this integration, and I hope you'll like it too.

Additionally, Rix enables you to share responses easily with your friends with one click. With this functionality, we aim to provide a seamless learning + coding experience for developers, allowing them to quickly try out and share code examples without ever leaving the chatbot.

Always-ON πŸš€

Rix is always available, 24x7. This means that developers can access it at any time, from anywhere in the world, and get the help they need. This is a significant advantage for developers who work on projects around the clock. With Rix, they can get the answers they need, whenever they need them, without any delay.

In addition to the availability, Rix is insanely fast and gets out of your way quickly. We have made sure that it loads within 100ms, and streams responses as fast as possible, which further enhances the DX and productivity.

Our plans with Rix

At Hashnode, we have always been dedicated to supporting developers in their journey to write better and learn more efficiently. We recently rolled out AI-assisted writing capabilities to 1000 beta testers. Through Rix, we are taking a giant leap forward in our mission to empower beginner developers to upskill themselves and learn more effectively through the power of AI.

Our goal is to keep adding more and more dev-centric features to Rix, and optimize it for developers. Rix is completely free to use while it's in limited beta. With your feedback, and input we hope to improve it further and create the best learning platform for developers.

Please try it out, and let us know your feedback!
